The Secret to a Good Life: Family, Fresh Air, and Conversations That Matter

What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

Spending time with my family – properly with them – not just in the same room while we all stare at different screens. Getting outside together, even if it’s just for a muddy walk or a hairy bike ride. Access to fresh air, green spaces, and the kind of adventures that don’t need tickets, tech or transactions. Just us, and nature.

It’s in those moments that we make the best memories – the ones we’ll still be laughing about years down the line. Whether we’re walking, biking, or just exploring somewhere new, it makes it easier to talk. Properly talk. No distractions, and no background noise (except the odd cuckoo or one of the lads doing a skid 😂). Those shared moments help build memories I know we’ll all treasure. And more than that, I hope they help lay the foundations for something even more important – that our boys know they can always come to us, no matter what. That we’re here, and we’re listening.

We don’t need fancy days out or big spending. Just time, nature, and each other. If we’ve got that – and we’re healthy and happy – then I reckon we’re already living the good life.
