Llandegla Pump Track Update – Temporary Closure Due to Logging Works (October 2025)

Logging at a pump track in wales

It was only a few weeks ago that I wrote about the brilliant pump track and skills park at Llandegla.

So you can imagine my shock when we revisited last weekend (18th October 2025) to find a mass of logging works — and this is what the pump track looks like now! 😳 Yes, that photo was taken from exactly the same spot (slightly different angle but hopefully you get the gist)!

Just a few weeks earlier – same spot!

And today – quite the transformation!

I’m hopeful it’ll be cleared and back in action soon (Being new to the mtb world I assume this happens regularly? Do let us know!). I’m sure regulars at Llandegla are rolling their eyes and thinking, “Don’t panic — give it a few months and it’ll all be fine.” 😂

Still, I thought it was worth mentioning, as I couldn’t find any updates on their website and wouldn’t want anyone travelling out there just for those sections, only to find they’re still closed. We’re here for the trails but the boys did miss ripping around them before and after our rides.

The trails are still open though and as fun as ever (video coming soon!).

    1. It’s massively different isn’t it! Amazing how landscapes change so much simply by removing some trees! I’m honestly not too sure what is going on, and there’s not much info on the website, but most of the sites we frequent for mountain biking seem to have ongoing logging works at different times. I’ve presumed it was fast growing trees for paper etc, but honestly not a clue. 🤷 I really should try harder to find out 😂

    1. I *think* they get replaced (hence the uniformity) but honestly I’m not too sure 😅. A lot of these recreation sites are planted and don’t have much assortment. We do have more naturally planted woodlands which have a wonderful assortment of trees – they’re usually better for walks 😊
